Lavender House has focused on manufacturing Fine Australian Aromatics since 1991, forging a fine reputation for both the quality of the skin care ranges and the quality of the experience offered to visitors.
THE PERFUMERY
The bright welcoming PERFUMERY showroom is the centre of activities. Visitors to the centre have a unique opportunity to observe manufacturing processes, meet some of the manufacturing team, and engage with the friendly staff as they sample the skin care and aromatherapy products manufactured on site and learn more about the benefits of pure natural skincare. There are simple interpretation panels displayed and the happy staff members are available to answer questions.
The Complex
This complex grows the largest lavender collection in Tasmania - 70 different species and varieties of lavender. Visitors are able to explore the fields observing the different lavenders. The differing growth habits, leaves, flowers, colours and fragrances of these lavenders is quite a surprise to many visitors. As are the flowering times.
Usually in autumn you will find lavendula intermedia & dentata, in winter lavendula dentata, and in spring lavendula stoechas flowers in many vibrant colours. The lavendula angustifolia flowers in summer.
During January visitors may have the chance to see the lavender harvest and distillation of the valuable perfumery oil. This oil is the key ingredient in the large range of body care products that are manufactured at Lavender House. The harvest date can vary by up to three weeks depending on the weather.
